Although their parents wanted a traditional wedding Shoron and Michael also added some personalized details.

The Flowers
Floral arrangements by Oasis Flowers
in Vancouver. Thin glass vases held red
Aranda orchids, white phalaenopsis orchids
and dahlias. These were used as both ceremony and reception florals.

The Decor
Sharon managed the decor herself. Each
table at the Kirin Starlight Restaurant had
an ivory or aqua tablecloth with a red runner. Cylindrical vases wrapped in aqua wire
and filled with white stones and red dahlias
served as centrepieces. Table markers had
the couple’s floral and bird motif on one
side and the Chinese “double happiness”
character on the other.

The Bride
Sharon’s ceremony dress was a mermaidstyle Jim Hjelm gown from Chantilly Bridal
made of ivory silk-faced satin organza and
Alencon lace. Her classic and timeless pearl
necklace by Lolo Jewellery was a wedding
present from her mother. Her bouquet
included white gardenias, dendrobium and
phalaenopsis orchids, and white dahlias
wrapped with aqua fabric and red ribbon.
“I wanted a full bouquet as a contrast to the
dress’ slim silhouette,” says Sharon.
