Najin and Lawrence Tse tied the knot on a sunny June day at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre. The two had met between Najin’s school terms when she was travelling back and forth from Australia. “I did not plan to return to Vancouver, let alone walk down the aisle within a few short years,” says Najin. “Our meeting was serendipitous and so was our unquenchable chemistry and compatibility.”

Following their ceremony, the couple and their wedding party headed outdoors to take advantage of the magnificent Whistler backdrop for their photo session with Melissa Baker of Bake Photography.

To tell the story of their love, the two decided on a vintage-literary theme for their big day, which wedding planner Sea to Sky Celebrations helped them bring to life. For their elegant reception at Nita Lake Lodge in Whistler, old books were gathered for each table to cover every genre from “Classic” and “Travel” to “Thriller.”

Other special touches included a vintage typewriter, handmade stationery and logos designed by the bride herself.

“It sounds cliché, but the most special aspect of our wedding was enjoying the company of all our loved ones,” says Najin. “Despite everyone’s own stories of being busy and being burdened with life’s curveballs, it touched us immeasurably to have everyone make time and effort to celebrate with us in Whistler.”
