A picture-perfect backyard wedding in Summerland overlooking Dirty Laundry Vineyard
There were many reasons for Alberta’s Lauren Skeith and Brett Campbell to choose Summerland for their destination wedding last August. The Okanagan town was where Brett had spent all his summers growing up and where the couple also created their own fond memories together.
Brett’s family have also now made their home in Summerland, providing the couple with the ideal wedding venue. The family owns Dirty Laundry Vineyard and Brett’s parents’ spacious property offers stunning views of both lake and vineyard. “It could not have been a more perfect setting for what we were envisioning for our late summer outdoor wedding,” says Lauren.
Of course, plenty of planning and work went into transforming the home into a wedding venue, for which the couple credit both Brett’s mother and wedding planner Created Lovely Events. “The day went perfectly and it took my breath away when I saw all the details come together,” recalls Lauren. “It had a bit of a wine theme, and a few rustic/vintage elements, but I’m not sure that it can really be fully described by any of those. It was just beautiful.”
Photographer Jessica Zais captured the outdoor ceremony overlooking the lake, which was followed by cocktail hour on the lawn, with lawn games to keep guests entertained. The reception was also held on the property, in a clear tent with guests served a family-style feast by Brodo Kitchen.
“One of our favourite parts of the wedding was the great speeches that kept us smiling, laughing and filled with love all night. We are so happy that Limelight Studios was able to capture everything on video so we are able to relive those moments,” says Lauren.
“Brett and I could not have been happier with how our day turned out, and it was more amazing than either of us could have imagined.”
