Walk us through the big day.
We had beautiful weather and a small ceremony at Milner Chapel in Langley, followed by family photos and bridal party photos in Williams Park. Then we headed over to Maan Farms for cocktail hour, a receiving line, dinner, speeches and dancing the night away!
What inspired the look and feel of the day?
My parent's wedding in 1979.
What was your favourite thing about the wedding?
The drive in our 1968 Chevy Caprice between the photos and the reception, just the two of us.

What was important to you to include in the day?
The DJ made the reception—DJ Johnny Awesome).
What we splurged on.
The venue. Maan Farms' barn was beautiful and we knew we had to have the reception there.

What we saved on.
The dress. I wore my Mom's, altered for $200.
What was the biggest challenge during the planning process?
Our six-month timeline between engagement and wedding.

What would your advice be to other couples planning their big day?
Be as prepared as possible, early. Don't procrastinate and wait until the last minute—give yourself the last week to do very little. My husband missed printing half our speech the morning of the wedding and other things fell through the cracks.
