Don't miss out on learning from industry experts and celebrity influencers to create the wedding of your dreams

The first-ever FLEUR luxury wedding show is coming to the brand new JW Marriott Parq Vancouver Hotel on January 21, 2018.

We sat down with Aly Armstrong, event planner and producer of FLEUR to find out why this show is one you won’t want to miss...

1. Tell us about FLEUR? What makes it different than other shows in the city?

FLEUR is a luxury wedding show and forum. We’re bringing together industry experts and celebrity influencers to teach and inspire. Visually, the show will be like no otherguests will be treated to a luxury decor walk where they’ll get to walk through areas inspired by other parts of the world. It will be a sensory journey complemented by culinary and musical aspects provided by the JW Marriott.

We will also have an expert panel at 1:30 p.m., which will be moderated by Erin Cebula. Guests will hear tips and advice from experts and get inspired by celebrity guest, Kaitlyn Bristowe and lifestyle expert, Monika Hibbs.

The fashion show is not to be missed! Blush Bridal is our official fashion partner, and we definitely have some surprises in store.

Workshops will be offered throughout the day. We will have morning and evening calligraphy classes and watercolour workshops, as well as a VIP portrait experience with the world-renowned, The Collective You. Guests need to register for these experiences in advance as spots are limited.

One element that was very important for me to include was a gentleman’s lounge. Often wedding shows cater to women only. I want men to feel welcome as well. Jason Sarai from Style by Sarai is hosting this year in a multi-level penthouse suite at the hotel. He’ll offer the men in attendance an opportunity to take a break from the show and enjoy amenities such as great food and beverages, styling tips and gift ideas. Gentlemen will relax in the suite and have the chance to network with incredible businesses and brands from Vancouver.

2. Why the name FLEUR?

It came to me in the middle of the night. I am a lover of flowers and they are an important element in any event. Flowers are beautiful and luxurious and provide a ton of inspiration. The show this year will also have a French flare, and you’ll notice French vignettes and influences throughout.

3. We know that often gift bags are a highlight of a signature event such as this. What can guests expect?

I wanted to find a way for guests to engage with vendors and exhibitors, so I created a bit of a game. When guests first register at the event, they’ll receive an event passport, which will include logos of all vendors taking part. As guests walk through the show and engage with exhibitors, they’ll receive stamps in their passport. They can then take their passport to the gift bar to select a gift based on the number of stamps they have.

We have some incredible gifts this year including Soul Cycle passes and memberships, gifts from Project Skin, gift cards, jewellery, magazinesthe list goes on.

Our grand prizes are exceptional as well. The JW Marriott is generously providing 100,000 Marriott rewards points (equivalent to a five-night stay and can be redeemed anywhere in the world), spa experiences and free nights. Everyone will also receive a branded reusable bag to put their swag in.

Many couples come out of the holiday season engaged and excited to plan the single most important day of their lives. Wedding planning can create a bit of stress, but we’re here to alleviate that and to inspire couples as they take their next steps to creating their lives together.
