Antonella and Brent Crosato married on a beautiful crisp sunny winter day in December. Not every bride would choose a wedding date in one of the coldest months of the year, but Antonella says she had always dreamed that her big day would be a modern take on a winter wedding scene – featuring a palette of silver and white with a touch of purple.

While the bride wore a dramatic Maggie Sottero gown, her brides donned matching gowns of rich aubergine from David’s Bridal – with pretty shawls to ward off the winter chill during the outdoor photo sessions.

“It was very important to me to choose December,” says Antonella, “since it’s my favourite time of the year being close to the holidays, as well as it was the same time I had met my now husband, Brent.”

True to the bride’s Italian heritage, the couple chose a traditional Catholic church ceremony at Holy Cross Church in Burnaby, followed by a reception at Burnaby Hall decorated in sparkling silver and white. There, their considerable guest list dined on an Italian-inspired feast, followed by a purple-themed candy buffet, cupcakes and one giant cupcake in lieu of a traditional wedding cake.

All happily stuffed by then, everyone then hit the dance floor to party the night away to the tunes of a live band.
