On a cold November night in 2014, Bryce flew to Regina, Saskatchewan for Nicole’s graduation from the RCMP training academy. The couple had been apart for over six months and their reunion was made all the more sweet with a proposal.
Nicole and Bryce chose to have a long engagement, enjoying their time together rather than stressing over wedding planning. They did, however, choose a few key vendors right away, to ensure their big day would be true to their style, including Brock House Restaurant and photographer Tomasz Wagner Photo & Films.
“Our planning process was almost stress free,” says Nicole. She credits the enjoyable experience to day-of coordinator and designer Margot Watt from Petite Pearl Events. “Margot took care of every detail, and created the most beautiful — and budget conscious — ceremony and reception.” The couple highly recommends the services of a day-of coordinator: “We were so grateful to have the small details and logistics of the day taken care of by the most competent hands.”
Since Nicole and Bryce knew that Tomasz Wagner’s artistic style was akin to theirs, they trusted him to document their day (both photography and videography). “His professionalism, patience and integrity only add to his astonishing photography and videography products,” says Nicole.
Though the couple says it’s impossible to please everyone during the planning process, they were transparent about their vision. “We allowed our parents have voices in details such as guest list, song choices and meal options, and tried our best to make sure everybody was pleased.”
Nicole calls the wedding day a fairytale. “I will forever cherish the smaller memories, like walking down the aisle to my favourite Beyoncé song disguised by a romantic strong quartet and cutting our wedding cake to the song that both of our parents shared their first dance to,” says Nicole. They’re thankful to their loving friends and family, as well as the vendors who helped make the day so beautiful and memorable.
