“There’s something incredibly romantic about eloping, and how each couple is able to truly make the day all about them,” says Kim Kalyn. So when she came together with French Kiss Events to style an elopement, they wanted to showcase both the simplicity of the day and the non-traditional elements that can accompany a private wedding.

The couples’ hair sparked the dark palette; the black gown from Blush Bridal Boutique with a pale lilac underlay complimented the bride’s stylish white hair. She wore a statement necklace above her strapless gown to balance her ensemble. His tailored suit created a clean and understated look.

The biggest pop of colour was in the bouquet and boutonnière, by FLEURtacious. Using seasonal and local blooms, florist Lynda Marie introduced rich, romantic tones to the dark theme.

Set in a hidden garden in the heart of Victoria, the intimate setting provided privacy and a beautiful backdrop. “Sometimes the best spots are right in front of you,” says Kalyn. The couple exchanged vows in the garden and celebrated with champagne and cake for two. “The perfect way to spend an elopement!”
