What do so many West Coast brides and grooms ask for? A timeless, romantic and elegant wedding. So, three local wedding professionals – from Shing Weddings, Balconi Floral Design and Denise Lin Photography – recently collaborated on this garden-themed inspiration shoot that highlights today’s three wedding must-haves: romance, elegance and timelessness.

Their pretty styled shoot revolves around flowers, since beautiful blooms are the trademark of lush Vancouver in the summertime. To create some floral drama, Reel Silks custom-designed a canopy allowing florals to be suspended from the ceiling. To keep the effect whimsical, suspended glass balls were added, along with hints of vintage with garlands and pearls. Linens, cutlery and plates were all kept clean and minimal to focus on the flowers.

In keeping with the shoot’s theme of vintage elegance, model Cathy was outfitted in Jenny Packham’s keyhole dress and accessories from Bisou Bridal, which highlighted her figure and accentuated her refined beauty. Faye Smith Makeup & Hair kept Cathy’s makeup natural and light, with her hair relaxed and loosely curled – perfect for a garden wedding.

The Fireplace Room within the Fish House in Stanley Park provided the ideal venue for this shoot, with its neutral walls and double French doors bringing the beauty of the outdoors inside. With many couples opting to forgo a traditional wedding cake, the macaron tower by La Macaronette  – Macaron by Christine offers a lovely alternative. As an elegant finishing touch, gold-trimmed menu cards by Love by Phoebe complemented the vintage glamour of the theme.
