Maple Ridge bride Jenna Seltzer loves the colour green. In fact, the Emily Carr University grad named her own art business Creative Lime, so it's no surprise that green was also the theme of her wedding, from the groom's lime-green tie through to the candy buffet in all shades of green. Jenna first met husband Kyle through friends and the two share a passion for the great outdoors. In planning their wedding, they wanted a unique natural setting, and found the perfect location in Grouse Mountain. Reflecting Jenna's artistic leanings, the two put together a fun and creative mountaintop wedding, enlisting the skills of their own family in the process. Jenna created the unique fabric flower detail for her dress, while her mother made the custom green sashes for the bride and bridal party. Both were also involved in the wedding décor, with Jenna whipping up her own stationery, cupcake stand and napkin holders, while she, her mother and her maids of honour prepared the floral centrepieces — even Jenna's father got involved by crafting the whimsical wooden table numbers. On one very hot August day, Jenna and Kyle tied the knot in bright sunshine, far above the city, before slipping away for photos. Jenna names one of her favourite moments of the day as when she left the mountain to take photos at the Capilano fish hatchery, alone with her new husband. "Try to take in the experience," she advises other couples, "because it goes by so fast."
