Julie Christine Marchand and Marc Lapointe were married two years to the day from the date they got engaged. Originally from Montreal, the Vancouver couple celebrated their engagement at the peak of Whistler Mountain. So, an outdoor winter wedding seemed only fitting for the two.
The pair chose to return to Québec for their wedding, in order to mark the occasion with their families. They settled on the chapel of the Hôtel de Glace (or Ice Hotel) in Québec City, a unique location that provides a magical and memorable setting (at -15°C!) in sculpted ice and snow.
Julie Christine and Marc tied the knot with 50 of their closest family members and friends in attendance. As almost all the guests came from out of town, the wedding ended up being a weekend vacation for everyone.
What made the day most special, says Julie Christine, was having her father officiate the wedding: “Nothing can make a wedding ceremony more personal and emotional like having your dad marry you.”
