As anyone who lives in Vancouver knows, it's a gamble at any time of year to hold an outdoor event. But Theresa Ramsay and Dillon Adams were lucky when it came to their wedding ceremony. On their big day, there wasn't a cloud in sight and the water was calm — a perfect September day. It was important for Theresa and Dillon to plan a wedding that would be a reflection of themselves, while still accommodating the wishes and needs of family and friends. When they came across the UBC Boathouse in Richmond, an elegant and modern venue on the water with a view of the mountains, they knew they'd found the perfect spot for both their ceremony and reception. Theresa and Dillon exchanged vows in the bright sunshine, right at the water's edge, before heading inside for a sumptuous feast of West Coast favourites and a fun night of dancing. "Thinking back on the day," recalls Theresa, "our favourite moment was sitting at the head table, looking out at the sunset as husband and wife amongst our best friends and family. It was blissfully beautiful setting that neither of us will ever forget."
